1 Formation of a Company

FORMATION OF COMPANY (LLC) - In which state or commonwealth was the certificate of formation filed?

"Formation" means the creation of a business association (e.g., a limited liability company), which is usually done by filing the appropriate document with a particular state's "Secretary of State" department. This department then issues a certificate to the business association stating that it now exists.
